![]() The limit will depend on how good your cooling is (and varies from chip to chip). The default settings for these in your BIOS may be quite high (they were set to infinity in my Asus BIOS!) I started by setting the turbo boost power to the design max of the chip (about 100W in my case) and then increasing until the max temp under heavy load was not more than about 80C. Setting these params will limit the power (by reducing clock multiplier if the power starts getting too high). the time it can exceed the turbo boost power max and go up to the short power max.
